A very special 1993 Custom Shop Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red.
Body build by Jay Madore. His experience includes thirteen years at Fender, starting out as a builder on the main production line. A little later, Jay did tune-testing work there and soon joined the Fender Custom Shop building guitars.
The neck is even more special, made by the man himself - Herbie Gastelum. Herbie Gastelum was a Fender Masterbuilder, and was to necks what “Queen of Tone” Abigail Ybarra was to pickups – the indisputable “King of Feel". And on Nov. 16, 2017, he handed his throne to his successors as he announced his retirement from Fender after 56 years of service.
It is also a "Yamano" Spec stamped neck, which means it is a high end guitar, hand picked for the high end Japanese market.
The pickup has been changed to Fender Custom Shop Pickups Custom '69 Strat Abigail Ybarra. Abigail Ibarra creates the moust sought after hand-wound pickups available from fender, and are usually reserved for Masterbuild Custom Shop guitars. The pickups alone sell for approx. $1600 on Reverb.
Typical wear and tear for a 30+ year old guitar, few small dings in the body but it is in great condition overall.
